Hi, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began to build something that felt steady.
Why I Built SiloPeakSage
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is about:
- Practical insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep chronicling what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Sophie
